Im sending this post from my freshly Bootloader unlocked, rooted, Verizon R800X Xperia Play running 2.3.3 .  I will post some screen shots & describe my entire process in just a bit. Definitely worth it if you have one.

I just recieved my Sony Xperia Play , I've been eagerly awaiting the release of this unit ever since the first leaked screen shots appeared online.  The packaging is pretty standard but it's a Verizon release so I wasn't expecting much.  Once I opened it up I found the unit , battery , usb data cable , charger , & headset adapter.  I plugged in the battery & powered it on, my first nag is that it is only running 2.3.2, not the 2.3.3 I was expecting it to ship with but I was assured a OTA Update is coming very soon.  So I pushed out the slide out game pad & the Xperia Play App launched showcasing the 7 games included ( Madden 2011, Bruce Lee, Crash Bandicoot, Sims 3, Asphalt 6, Star Battalion, & BattleField Bad Company 2 ) + a section showcasing other games optimized for the Xperia ready for online purchase / install ( Nova 2, Modern Combat 2, Avatar, Splinter Cell, Spiderman, Assassin's Creed, & more ). This is really cool & opens up a world of options.  I'm in the planning/mockup stages of my own Android Controlled Vehicle.  I will be using a HTC Droid Eris & a RC Helicopter ( actually classified as a U.A.V ).  My plan involvels dissasembling the Droid Eris and mounting the various parts including the battery so that they add as little weight as possible since i want it to fly, plus mount the camera lens on the nose of the RC so I can attempt to pilot the craft using the Live Video Feed + GPS & other Sensor's information to keep it on course & attempt a landing that doesn't result in catastrophe .  Check these guys out though , they have done a lot of the leg work for me. Primarily a company that designs and builds digital signage, they were approached by several customers who wanted a large screen device that had multi-touch functionality similar to a smartphone. The more you teach it the better it's responses will get, I know of one such Bot that actually tricked millions of Facebook & Twitter Users that it was a real person for over a month

I just recieved a Motorola Droid in the mail today & had to Root it immediately .  I was able to do it all on the phone , no need for cables & ADB  . I downloaded a program ( Z4root.apk) trhat I discovered during a Google search . I downloaded it with the phones stock browser , installed it using the built in package manager app , & then proceeded to enable USB Debugging & Enable the installation  of non market downloads . It was incredibly easy & took only minutes . I havnt flashed a custom rom yet but I did download SetCPU & overclocked it .  Ill post some screen shots & pics soon .
